Apollo Bhutan Institute of Nursing
Apollo Bhutan Institute of Nursing partnered with Wangyel Studio to create its foundational brand identity and website ahead of its official launch. As a new institution under the esteemed Apollo network, the goal was to design a logo and digital presence that reflected its life-centered mission while honoring Bhutan’s cultural ethos and aligning with its parent organization’s legacy.
The Challenge
The institute required a brand that balanced its connection to Apollo’s global identity with a distinctly Bhutanese sensibility.
The logo needed to symbolize healthcare, education, and the sanctity of life, while resonating with local values.
Additionally, the website had to instill trust in prospective students and faculty, despite the institute being pre-launch, by clearly communicating its vision, programs, and ties to Apollo’s renowned medical expertise.
The Solution
Wangyel Studio designed a logo that harmonizes Apollo’s iconic flame-and-hand motif—representing the nurturing of life—with Bhutanese symbolism. The flame, held by a stylized hand, merges into a water droplet, a dual emblem of life deeply rooted in Bhutan’s reverence for nature. The fluid, interconnected shapes evoke care, knowledge, and the fusion of global medical excellence with local values.
For the website, we prioritized clarity and inspiration, featuring serene imagery of Bhutan’s landscapes, detailed program outlines, and profiles of Apollo’s international faculty. A minimalist layout and intuitive navigation emphasized accessibility, while storytelling elements highlighted the institute’s commitment to compassionate healthcare education.
The result was a brand that bridges Apollo’s legacy with Bhutan’s identity, positioning the institute as a beacon of innovation and humanity in medical training.
